The European Union at a Turning Point?

October 27th - 29th, 2021, Mainz

Central questions regarding the future of the EU which are now being put on the table and heading for key decisions will be discussed in a small circle: The increasing tension between centralising and centrifugal forces, a potential new self-understanding for the EU, the Green Deal with "fit for 55" as well as the geoeconomic and geostrategic alignment.

The meeting of the participants will focus more on exchange and discussion, and less on extensive lectures.

The conference will take place at the Wasem Winery in Ingelheim and is part of the Mainz History Talks. It will be held in cooperation with the Forschungskolleg Normative Gesellschaftsgrundlagen in Bonn.
